Hattie is the most adorable surprise ever!

A few days before our big sanctuary move in summer 2025, Hayley noticed that one of our pigs, Peppa, was looking a bit larger than usual and called a vet out to check on her. It turned out Peppa had accidentally become pregnant with another of our pigs, Jeff, and was carrying piglets.

On the morning of the big move, Peppa didn’t come for breakfast as usual, and so Hayley went looking for her. She was found with a new baby, who became Hattie!

It became clear that Peppa was struggling to produce enough milk, so Hayley and other volunteers spent a long time bottle feeding and weaning Hattie.

Hattie is a very sweet, clever girl who has learnt to sit like a dog for treats and is a big mummy’s girl!
