Jodie is our very first goat to join the Lotus family! 

Jodie had a bit of a difficult start to life and wasn’t breathing when she was born. Thanks to the swift and brave actions of her first owner, Jodie began to breathe on her own but it soon became clear she needed more constant care than her siblings. Needing some help and advice, her owner reached out to a local country store who recommended they get in touch with us.

When Hayley received the call, she offered to meet Jodie and quickly realised that Jodie would need round-the-clock care. For two days it was touch and go, and after consulting the vet, Hayley figured out that Jodie likely has a small stomach and couldn’t feed properly. Fortunately, having experienced something similar with other lambs at the sanctuary, Hayley has been feeding Jodie every two hours, day and night, to give her the strength and nutrients she needs to grow.

In just a few days Jodie has improved hugely and we can’t wait for her to properly move into the sanctuary and make lots of new friends!
